Course Overview
Water scarcity is a growing challenge for households and food producers across South Africa. At the same time, large amounts of water used in homes are lost after a single use. Greywater harvesting offers a practical way to use water more wisely by reusing certain types of household water to support food production.
This microlearning course introduces greywater harvesting as a low-cost, low-technology practice that can be used at household, homestead, and small-scale food production levels. The course focuses on practical application, showing how greywater can be used safely to water food gardens, improve water efficiency, and strengthen household food security.
The course is designed for:
- Households and home gardeners
- Homestead and small-scale food producers
- Community facilitators and extension workers
