Module 3: Assignment

This Assignment builds strongly on Activities 3.1 and 3.2, and provides the opportunity for you to consolidate your ideas for making changes in your curriculum or training programme to integrate elements of RWH&C. For farmers sharing with other farmers it asks how you will introduce ideas and practices related to RWH&C It asks you to provide detail on the practices you wish to include, the information you will need to support these, what learning methods will be appropriate for these new elements, and how you will make the necessary changes to the curriculum or training programme, or means of sharing. All participants wishing to achieve a Rhodes certificate (at either NQF Level 6 or Level 5) must successfully complete this Assignment.

The requirements for the different versions of Assignment 3 are provided below:

Stream 1 (NQF Level 6), Assignment 3 (For those involved in formal education and training)

Finalise the curriculum development plan for integrating RWH&C into your curriculum

Produce a report of 5-6 pages (2500 – 3000 words) describing:

  1. Which option(s) for integration you have chosen, and why
  2. Include a draft syllabus for the implementation of this curriculum, indicating what activities will take place, over what period of time, what RWH&C Practices you will include, and why
  3. What Learning Content from the WRC materials you will use and in what form
  4. What Learning Methods you will use, and why
  5. What Learning Support Materials (including Demonstration Sites and/or Websites) you will use, and why
  6. What changes in other curricula will be needed to support RWH&C
  7. Who you will consult with concerning these changes

Include a draft syllabus for the implementation of this curriculum, indicating what activities will take place, over what period of time

Stream 2 (NQF Level 5) Assignment 3a (Extension Trainers)

Finalise the training programme for sharing information on RWH&C.

Produce a report of 3 – 4 pages (1500 – 2000 words) describing:

  1. What RWH&C Practices you will include, and why
  2. What Learning Content from the WRC materials you will use and in what form
  3. What Learning Methods you will use, and why
  4. What Learning Support Materials (including Demonstration Sites and/or Websites) you will use, and why
  5. How you will share this new information and practices with other farmers
  6. What support you may need to implement this programme, and from whom

Include a framework for the implementation of this training programme, indicating what activities will take place, over what period of time

Please ensure that the Assignment is headed by your name, registration number, email address, and date of submission; also the Stream and Assignment number {Stream 2, Assignment 3 (a)}

Stream 2 (NQF Level 5) Assignment 3b (Farmers)

Finalise the training programme for sharing information on RWH&C.
